QAA Monitoring Visit, September 2016

14 Nov 2016

Further to our October 2015 Higher Education Review (HER), London School of Business and Management (LSBM) have since undergone a scheduled monitoring visit by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and have received our final report, which is available in full at the QAA website.

The monitoring visit resulted in the following outcome:

The QAA monitoring team has concluded that LSBM are making commendable progress in implementing the action plan from the Higher Education Review (Alternative Providers).

The monitoring visit was carried out by Mr David Malachi and Dr John Butcher. The review team found that we are continuing to build on features of good practice identified in our October 2015 HER report. Furthermore, the report found that we have implemented all actions identified in the 2015 HER report.

Other key findings of the review team include:

  • We are building on features of good practice identified in our 2015 HER report, enhancing our governance framework and including clear roles for students (via our Student Guild) on committees.
  • We have a clear strategy and support in place for enhancing teaching and learning.
  • Our effective teaching and learning and highly positive outcomes reflect the effective support mechanisms we have in place for students.
  • We continue to make commendable progress in working with the Quality Code.
  • Our strong partnership with the University of Northampton provides assurance of engagement with Subject Benchmark Statements and quality systems.

The findings of the monitoring visit demonstrate to an audience wider than our own staff and students that LSBM has continued to build on our highly positive October 2015 HER. As we grow steadily as an organisation, we continue to further develop and enhance our students’ educational experience, putting our students at the forefront of all we do.
