The London School of Business and Management have now been validated by our partner, the University of Northampton to deliver new courses in BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management and LLB (Hons) Law.

We have a range of exciting new courses which include:

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (3 Year)

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (2 Year Accelerated)

LLB (Hons) Law including Foundation Year (4 Year)

LLB (Hons) Law (3 Year)

LLB (Hons) Law (2 Year Accelerated)

All of these courses have been designated for funding and appear on the Student Loans Company online portal, so our UK and EU applicants can apply for funding to cover their tuition fees and maintenance during their studies.

There a number of enhancements to our new courses, which will benefit students starting from September 2016 onwards. These include a reduction in the number of assessments and changes in delivery structure which marks a shift from delivering 20 credit modules to new 30 credit modules.

Perhaps the most exciting changes are our new partnerships with professional bodies.

All of our Accounting and Financial Management courses have been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). CIMA is the world’s largest and leading professional body of management accountants with more than 229,000 members and students in 176 countries (1).

CIMA prepares people for a career in business. It teaches skills for strategic advice, managing risk and making key decisions with a syllabus designed to deliver a strong understanding of all aspects of business so members can contribute in many areas of the organisations they work in (2).

Because our course is accredited by CIMA, our graduates will be granted exemptions from seven CIMA exams, enabling them to fast-track their careers as accountants.

You can see the CIMA accreditation details for our accounting courses on their website as follows:

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (3 Year)

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (2 Year Accelerated)

Our Accounting and Financial Management students also benefit from free student membership to CIMA throughout the duration of their studies. This means that they can take advantage of the CIMA online communities and free resources and career support services such as: interview tips; CV support; discussion forums; graduate vacancies; networking events and employment skill classes. To find out about the latest CIMA events see updates on our events page or Facebook.

And it’s not just our Accounting students who will be benefit from a new course accreditation. Not only are all of our LLB (Hons) Law courses qualifying law degrees, but we are now just one of a handful of providers in England and Wales to have been granted Institutional Exemptions for Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) qualifications. Our graduates who complete required modules in their final year (3) will be exempt from two CILEx qualifications: the CILEx Level 6 Diploma in Law and Practice; and the CILEx Graduate Fast Track Diploma.

Students who complete our Civil Litigation and Client Care module, plus one of four other practice-based modules, are eligible for admission as a Graduate Member of CILEx. This opportunity will save our graduates one year of additional study. With CILEx Graduate Member status, our students will also be able to use the designatory letters GCILEx.

London School of Business and Management graduates with CILEx Graduate Member status could immediately work in a law firm in roles such as a Trainee CILEx Lawyer, Paralegal or Legal Clerk. After completing five years of qualifying employment in a law firm, they will be admitted as a Fellow of CILEx and a Chartered Legal Executive. Fellows can represent clients in court if they qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive Advocate. They can also dual qualify as a Solicitor, without having to complete a two-year training contract.

The new accreditations from CIMA and CILEx are just some of the ways we are enhancing our students’ learning opportunities and their graduate employment prospects. To find out more about our new Accounting and Law courses visit our undergraduate course pages or apply now for September 2017!
